Uber blames hacking group Lapsus$ for cyber attack!

Ride-hailing giant Uber was hit by a cyber-attack last week. Now company has disclosed a hacker affiliated with a group was responsible for this cyber-attack that forced ride-hailing company to shut several internal communications though temporarily last week.

 However, there are no reports of major damages. Uber said attacker had not exist any user account and databases that store sensitive user information such as credit card numbers, bank account details.

Company also said it was in close coordination with FBI and the US Department of Justice on the matter. Friday’s cyber security incidents had brought down Uber’s internal communication system for a while and employees were restricted to use Salesforce owned office messaging app slack. Uber said attacker logged into a contractor’s Uber account after they accepted a two-factor login approval request following multiple requests, giving hacker access to several employee accounts and tools such as G-Suit and slack the hacking group it has targeted firms including Nvidia Microsoft OCTA and authentication services company relied by many 1000s of major businesses. The hacker who goes by the name Teapot Uber also reportedly claimed to leak early gameplay footage of Take-two interactive software’s much awaited game Grand Theft Auto 6 yesterday.
