Normal skin type

It is hard to describe normal skin because it is not too dry and not too oily. The pore size of normal skin type is small that is not easily visible or engorged. Normal skin cannot be easily cracked and does not have a great excess of shine. It cannot be considered perfect skin because it deals with several skin issues.

Necessary skincare steps or tips to deal

  • You should use sulfate-free cleansers for normal skin.

But, if it’s very dry, it can become scaly and rough especially on the back of your arms, hands, and legs. People having this skin type have invisible pores and may suffer from regular irritation and premature wrinkles.

Dry skin is caused by:

  • Aging or hormonal changes
  • Your genes
  • Indoor heating
  • Medications
  • Ingredients in cosmetics, soaps and cleansers

Necessary skincare steps or tips to deal

  • Do not use high lather and high foam cleansing lotions because they can increase the dryness further. Instead, use cleansers rich in Alpine herbs and Chamomile.
  • Use moisturizers that are hydrating in nature.
  • Don’t scrub while drying or bathing.
  • Wear gloves while using solvents, household detergents, and cleaning agents.
  • Avoid cold, hot, or dry air as it can cause moisture imbalance of the skin.

Oily skin type

Oily skin is characterized by an increased amount of lipids due to overactive sebaceous glands. Skin mostly looks thick and shiny, usually with enlarged pores. Oily skin tends to get pimples, blackheads, and other blemishes.

Oily skin is caused by:

  • Heat or too much humidity
  • Stress
  • Hormonal imbalances or puberty
  • Enlarged oil glands that secrete high quantities of sebum

Combination skin can be normal or dry in some areas and oily in others. Dryness is usually around the eyes and on the cheeks while being oily in the T-zone (forehead, chin, and nose). This skin type is usually characterized by blackheads, shiny skin, and large open pores. The combination skin type needs extra care as it is partly oily and partly dry throughout the day. To deal with both oily and dry skin, we have to follow a perfect skincare regimen.

  • Use Retinol serum for dry skin and AHA/BHA Serum for oily skin type. Regular usage of both serums will help to reduce the pore size.
  • Face oil and clay mask will keep your skin moisturized and also prevent excessive production of oil.
  • Avoid products with fragrance as the dry part of the skin may sufer irritation.
  • Stick to natural ingredients because, chemical based treatments can cause oily areas to increase acne production and dry out the dry areas of face so, avoid them. Bio Clarity products contain natural extracts of cucumber, chamomile and green tea to calm inflammation and soothe the skin.

Sensitive skin type

Sensitive skin types may exhibit the characteristics of oily skin, dry skin, or combination skin. But they also deal with a great amount of itching, burning, redness, dryness, and irritation. It is important to choose the right skincare product because sensitive skin types get easily inflamed. People having sensitive skin should avoid harsh chemical-based treatments.

Necessary skincare steps or tips to deal

  • Use only gentle and sulfate-free cleansing lotions.
  • Use anti-inflammatory toners as they can calm down your skin sensitivity. Such type of toner contains ingredients like Chamomile, Bisabolol, and green tea.
  • Use moisturizers free of alcohol and synthetic dyes.
  • Avoid sunscreens with Zinc Oxide. Instead, use those with Titanium Oxide.
  • Do not use Glycolic acid serums and Gel-based masks because they can irritate your sensitive skin further. Instead, use Lactic acid-rich serums.
