School bus crashes into home near Ohio-Indiana border

School bus happened into the home, causing the crash. It happened around 7:30 in the morning. Investigators say the bus was making its way around the elementary school building when it crashed into the home.

I was out putting laundry on the clothesline and heard a tremendous noise. The home owner assumed it was a noise from trash day. Perhaps a school dumpster dumpster being dropped. When I came through the back of the house and looked out the front window, then I see the school bus on the porch.

32 students were on the bus at the time of the crash. All of them were evaluated by EMS on the scene, and no child was transported. School did an excellent job of accounting for the kids. Taking care of the kids had some councellors there.

Siebert a retired firefighter is grateful considering what could have been done? But his thoughts are still with the bus driver. This can be replaced. Kids weren’t hurt. That’s what matters.

We hope the best for the driver is ok. The Bus driver was unresponsive when first responders arrived. He was taken to Reed hospital in Richmond, Indiana.

Fire Chief Don Jackson says his vitals were improving. However, there was no further update on his condition.
