Russian Missiles attacked the center of Kyiv

Russian missiles attacked the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Sunday. It happened when world leaders gathered in Europe to implement further sanctions against Moscow as the key eastern city was fully captured by Russian forces which was a huge setback for Ukraine.  

As we all know that Russia-Ukraine war has entered into the 5th month which is the biggest land conflict since World War II. While the western alliance who are the supporters of Kyiv now seem anxious.

Britain said on Saturday it believed Ukraine could win but there is also a fear that Ukraine may be pressurized into a bad peace deal.  

As Russian missiles hit Kyiv’s central Shevchenkivskiy district on Sunday, a nine-story apartment building was damaged partially and got fire as well, Vitali Klitschko-city’s mayor said on the telegram app.

He also said there are people under the rubble and several injured already admitted to the hospital.

The rescuers have pulled out a 7 years old girl alive. Now they are trying to rescue her mother.

Life in Kyiv was coming back to normal after the fierce resistance of Ukrainian troops.

Western countries and Ukraine accuse Russian troops of war crimes that have killed thousands of people and destroyed cities. But Russia denies all the allegations.

The main eastern Ukrainian city of Sievierodonetsk fell to Russian forces on Saturday after Ukrainian forces retired from there. Ukraine said there is no longer anything to defend in the ruined city.

The fall of Sievierodonetsk is considered Kyiv’s major defeat as it wants to keep control of the Donbas region.

According to Moscow the provinces of Donbas’ Luhansk and Donetsk, where he had supported the rebellion since 2014, were independent countries. This demanded that Ukraine surrender the entire area of ​​the two provinces for separatist administration.
