However, banks will not be able to design a soft landing in the middle of the race to control inflation. Growth forecasts have moved south during 2022, led by the United States, Europe, and China.

On one side negative economic impacts of the pandemic are getting normal, but other challenges have arisen. Inflation is one of them which has surprised to the upside, especially for food and energy. Central banks have been approaching more aggressively as compared to the anticipation a few months ago.

It will have various outcomes. Financial market conditions have hardened, and outflows of the emerging market have increased as interest rate differentials with the United States Federal Reserve are extended. The pressure is increasing on the companies and households, particularly those who earn low-income that did not accumulate decent caution savings during the pandemic. The concern is visible that central banks cannot design a soft landing in the middle of the race to tame inflation.

The status of the Moody analytical business cycle for July shows that main economies, including the US, US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and most of Europe are at risk of recession.
