By exfoliation, I mean adding it to your regular skin care routine so that it becomes easier to naturally clean dead skin.

Ingredients to naturally clean dead skin at home

All the ingredients as below are consumed in the process of exfoliation, depending on the type of skin one carries. Below is the list;

Toothbrush

Toothbrush hack is a common one that helps deal with the cleaning of dead skin on the lips. For the smooth-textured lips, this is simply an amazing yet easiest way. Since the bristles of the toothbrush are hard on the lips, it is always recommended to use lip balm.

***Apply a generous and hydrating lip balm properly on your lips and scrub it gently using the bristles of the toothbrush.

Brown Sugar

This has been considered as one of the major ingredients in the formula of exfoliation. Your face skin and body skin carries different texture. But this works for the two in a coarser texture. The scrubbing of raw sugar is also known for helping out in improved blood circulation, making the skin feel softer and supple. In order to turn brown sugar into one of the best exfoliators, follow the simple steps as below;

***Add a teaspoon full of almond oil or coconut oil (whichever is easily available) to a tablespoon full of brown sugar. Simply mix, apply, scrub clockwise and anticlockwise, let it rest, and wash away with lukewarm water.

Apple cider vinegar

Prior to learning its’ use and workability, please note that this need not to be applied by those carrying sensitive skin. Being known for it’s richness in malic acid, acetic, and lactic, apple cider vinegar also works wonder when mixed with water. This is basically feet exfoliator.

*** To prepare, add a teaspoon full of water to the teaspoon full of vinegar and mix well. Apply using the cotton ball.

Olive oil

Can you deny the benefits of olive oil? I cannot. Where olive pits are consumed for exfoliation, it’s oil moisturizes the skin extremely well.

***To prepare the exfoliator, grind the olive pits and make a paste in olive oil. Exfoliate via scrubbing and wash away the part using a mild cleanser.

Baking soda

The granules of the baking soda works wonder when it comes to naturally cleaning dead skin. The alkalinity present within this particular ingredient assist in removing the dead skin, thereby maintaining the pH balance in the skin.

Pumice stone

It is no formula but an object that helps deal with the dead around your feet mainly.

***When it comes to its’ use, simply soak feet in lukewarm water for around 10 minutes and scrub using the pumice stone. This will help remove all the dead skin. Wash away and do apply a moisturizer.

Coffee grounds

Coffee grounds are majorly consumed when it comes to removing dead skin from your legs and giving it the shine back. Unlike other scrubs, we do not prefer making use of it on the face skin due to its’ harshness. But if you feel like, you can always do gentle scrubbing. Alongside the shine it offers, caffeine also serves to improve blood circulation.

***To prepare for use, take 3 tablespoons full of coffee grounds and add a tablespoon of coconut oil and some water. Apply and scrub the paste gently and enjoy the shine.

Sugar & honey

Such an exfoliator is being used until ages. The mixture of raw sugar and pure honey helps in having naturally clean dead skin from the arms and overall body.

***Simply mix up a tablespoon full of sugar to a teaspoon full of honey and prepare the scrub. Rub gently on your face skin and even on the other parts of the body. Apply, scrub, and wash away for quick result.

Oatmeal

When it comes to the preparation of the homemade exfoliator, oatmeal works wonder for the face skin. Having it used for scrubbing not only makes it a wonderful choice soften the dead skin, but wipes it away completely. A large number of men have been choosing to use it prior to shaving as it also serves as a moisturizer that makes the skin smooth and moisturized.

***For the use, simply mix water in one tablespoon of oatmeal and make the paste. Apply, scrub, wash, and moisturize your skin.

Salt

Epsom salt is known for being an amazing ingredient that serves to detoxify as well as balance the pH level. The granules of the salt works amazingly as an exfoliator, especially when mixed with coconut and lavender oil.

***To prepare the scrub, mix one cup of salt with one cup of coconut oil and few drops of lavender oil (if available). This can be stored for a week in an air-tight container. It is used for body scrubbing.

Tips to keep in mind for naturally clean dead skin

  • If looking for a facial scrub, ensure that you purchase exfoliators that are produced mainly for the face rather than for the entire body. (Products produced for the overall body are harsh and can be infectious on the face).
  • Never exfoliate your skin if there is any kind of skin problem going on. Even if burnt by sun, choose to wait rather than scrub.
  • Make sure that you moisturize your face each time you scrub.
  • Ensure that you scrub once a week no matter which home remedy or home ingredient pleasures you the most.
  • For those with combination skin, they can exfoliate twice a week.
  • For those with dry skin, they can exfoliate once in two week time.
