ECC approves clearance of banned items landed till August 18, 2022

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) considered a summary of the Ministry of Commerce on clearance of stuck-up consignments in light of the office memorandum dated 22 July 2022, 19 August 2022, and 23 August 2022 issued by the Ministry of Commerce.

The ECC approved the proposal and ordered that the shipments of the previously prohibited goods that landed in Pakistan until August 18, 2022, could be released at the surcharge rate.

ECC directs the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations, and coordination to withdraw summaries and is directed to submit a new summary of Paracetamol and rationalize prices and ensure its availability.

The summary presented by the Ministry of National Food Security and research on wheat imports through the Gwadar Sea Port was suspended by the ECC.

Wednesday’s ECC Cabinet approved Rs.10 billion funds to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for the procurement and logistics of goods for people affected by floods.

In addition, the ECC has been directed to the finance division to immediately release the RS.5 billion to NDMA funds. Minister of Finance and Federal Revenue Miftah Ismail virtually led the ECC meeting.
