Death tolls arises to 127- Pakistan floods

The heavy monsoon rain and floods continue to hammer Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan. In the latest, 90 more people were killed and hundreds was stranded in both provinces taking the total death toll to 127. Monsoon rain have battered Pakistan floods of ravaged major cities and towns in Balochistan.

The Pakistan army is helping with the search and rescue operations amid this Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is a visit to Balochistan for short help and cooperation to flood ravaged citizens. He also said that the government will not abandon its people during the difficult time. The prime minister gave instructions to speed up relief operations. He asked officials to provide more monthly food supply for free and both the prime minister also called for medical camps in the affected areas.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the government will provide over $4,100 to families of those who lost their loved ones. He also announced compensation to those who were displaced by the floods, highlighting this was the worst flood in over 30 years. As per reports, over 17,000 people have been affected by the flood, at least 700 livestock have also lost their lives. Balochistan has seen unusual amount of rain during the monsoon season this year. The Pakistan government has imposed section 144 in the province and has also urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel for 10 days at least. Section 144 bans public gathering of over four people!
