According to the Office for National Statistics, Coronavirus infection continues to rise in UK.
As per the data suggested, there were around 1.7 million people who suffered CoVid-19 by the end of 18th June 2022. Around 35 people in one are found to have CoVid, i.e. 23% increase on the week before. The 2 new infections namely, BA.4 and BA.5 are fast-spreading subvariants of Omicron. As per the UKHSA (UK Health Security Agency), BA.4 and BA.5 are making over half the new CoVid infections.
If anyone had covid-19 recently, one can easily find they have new variant.
Should you be worried about Omicron BA.4 and BA.5?
Among the types of CoVid, BA.4 and BA.5 are not thought to be any more lethal. Although there are still vaccinations saving lives, there are still many people ill with CoVid.
Level of risk
According to the Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam, UK has been in different situation from the peaks in infections. He says that he is no more wearing mask, but if some circumstances demand it to happen, he would rethink about his decision. He thinks that people have got to learn to frame those risks for themselves. It appears that the success of vaccinations has made everyone think about the growing coronavirus.
It’s now much closer to seasonal flu since the time it first emerged. And it is acceptable only during the winter season. Jonathan also says that he’ve got to restart framing CoVid with some different terms. Experts will continue to watch the growing cases with the growing CoVid cases ending up in hospitals and intensive care.
